Movie Trailers of the Day: Rango, Take Me Home Tonight, and more!

Today has been a huge day for movie trailers! Instead of doing a post for each, I've grouped the best of today's together for your easy viewing pleasure.

Rango

Of these trailers, this is the film I'm most looking forward to. I'm a sucker for quality animated features.

Fast Five

The fifth (and final?) installment in The Fast & The Furious series looks to bringing more of the same to the table, and I for one can't get enough.

Take Me Home Tonight

With a four year delay in this hitting theaters, I'm very skeptical on the quality of this film. I mean, for it to be delayed this long means they didn't deem it worthy to come out during the quality drought that hit after the writer's strike. Even still though, I like Topher Grace and this seems like a story that most post-grads can relate to.

From yesterday: Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Do I need to give a better reason as to why I'll be trekking to the theatre for this?

Office Space: The Musical

Don't worry, this isn't real, but I would totally watch it if it was. This little video was created to promote the Blu-Ray release of the film, which you can buy on Amazon by clicking the link below.

How I Met Your Mother: The Beer Ad They Couldn't Air

This season is already leaps and bounds better than last season, which was the weakest in the show's history.

I for one am a fan of Barney/Robin getting back together. I wasn't a fan of them getting together and breaking up the first time around, but the writers have done a much better job of making their connections believable, the slow build up is working. Last time they got together so slowly with very little emotional foundation for it to make sense. And then they broke up at what seemed like a drop of a hat. This time each episode seems to have a little moment between them that further proves their compabatibility and attraction. The fans seem to be pretty split on this issue, and how you feel about their potential recoupling really affects your enjoyment of this season.

Anyways, watch the latest viral video, a beer commercial that couldn't air on TV:

Chuck's Jeffster vs. Halo: Reach

Last season ended with Jeff and Lester on the lamb, suspected of blowing up the Buy More. While I'm not sure how big their roles will be in Season 4, they do have their own web series for the time being. It follows Jeffster on the run, but risking it all to get their hands on the new Halo game, Halo: Reach.

While it serves as an extended Halo: Reach commercial, I'm not bothered as long as it's entertaining and true to the characters. IGN announced the series, but you can watch a sneak peak of the web series below.

Disney's Tangled is Seeing Double (Rainbows)

Yet another Double Rainbow inspired commercial. I think Microsoft pulled it off better, being more timely and more on point with the tie in. This doesn't really make sense with the tone and theme of the film. Nice try, Disney. But you're trying too hard to be hip.

Windows 7 Loves the Double Rainbow

You know you've made it when you're no longer just an internet meme and have jumped into mainstream media. Smart of Windows 7 to pick up on this so quickly and produce a commercial before it gets even older and overdone.

The DreamWorks Face

A popular internet comic pointed out the prevalence of the DreamWorks face and I haven't been able to NOT see it.

and now DreamWorks released the poster for their next movie, Megamind.

BOTH of them are making the face! DreamWorks has to be in on the joke, right?

Also, check out a comixed post that brings the DreamWorks face to LOST.

The Morning After Lost

Last night was the emotional finale of Lost. While I was completely satisfied with the ending, I know we'll never get answers to many of the questions posed throughout its six years. I'm fine with it and feel that the unanswered questions allow the show to live on past its air date by having people continue to mull it over, think and theorize on what exactly all these things mean. I'll leave the recapping and theorizing to those more invested and studied in the show's mythology than I.

Also, one of my favorite things during the finale (besides the show obviously) were the Target commercials. Check them out below:

And of course, there are already some spoof spots up:

Iron Man 2: Augmented Reality App

For this year's early summer blockbuster, 'IRON MAN 2', Paramount has delivered an Augmented Reality campaign allowing users to see themselves wearing the Iron Man and War Machine masks. Paramount delivered a similar for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but took this opportunity to really extend the technology.

This time round the AR experience allows users to see the HUD view that Tony has when he is Iron Man plus have a conversation with Jarvis using quotes from the movie.

But most importantly, as we live in an embeddable, shareable world, Paramount wanted to make sure the user could easily record and share themselves as Iron Man so the tech was integrated to ensure the whole experience can now be recorded and saved to social networks or to their own computer.

While this looks awesome, I am sad that we don't have this technology in our every day lives yet. This is 2010, where's my holographic computing system?!

Pervert Bubbles

If those little bubbles were in my bathroom, I don't think I'd be able to shower. Time to move!

While a somewhat uncomfortable commercial, I find it hilarious and a great piece of advertising! By personifying the chemicals, I won't soon forget about the dangers of some cleaners.
