SNL Highlight: Jason Segel and THE MUPPETS Opening Monologue

Please tell me you're excited for the new MUPPETS movie! If not, I don't know if we can be online friends. Jason Segel took the Saturday Night Live stage this past weekend and did an excellent job hosting, along with some stellar cameos from Muppets, Paul Rudd, and a politician. Check out the great musical opening monologue after the break.

Harry Potter in 60 seconds

I love a good YouTube video and this musical summary of the entire Harry Potter series is pretty tops! I love how he changes musical style and tempo to fit each book. Warnings: Spoilers for books/movies until HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE.

Like the song? You can buy it on iTunes of course!

SNL Highlight Reel: Dance Dance Season 36

Season 36 was a very strong season for SNL, with great new featured players in Vanessa Bayer, Jay Pharoah, Taran Killam, and Paul Brittain. Each of them did a great job adding their own characters and impressions into the mix.

This season was particularly musical with a good amount of musical opening monologues and dance numbers within sketches. Live from New York, It's Saturday Night put together a great montage of these moments, watch the video after the break!

SNL Highlight: Laser Cats The Musical

Tom Hanks should have just gotten co-hosting credits. He was in so many skits! Watch my favorite skit from Elton John/Tom Hank's show, Laser Cats The Musical:

Good Deal: Once Soundtrack only $5

This understated movie is one of my favorite non-traditional movie musicals. Following a boy and a girl as they fall in love, it truly is a gem. With a Broadway Musical on the way, how perfect that the soundtrack is on sale today for only $5 on Amazon! Listen, enjoy, and prepare to have your heart swell.

Jimmy Fallon's a Sucker

This is a few days old, but I had to post it. At 12 minutes, it's little long but keep watching because the last 4 minutes is probably my favorite part.

I honestly don't know of any other late night show doing such in depth skits and sketches. Jimmy Fallon really took his SNL years to heart and has infused Late Night with awesome sketches like this and the Glee parodies.

Office Space: The Musical

Don't worry, this isn't real, but I would totally watch it if it was. This little video was created to promote the Blu-Ray release of the film, which you can buy on Amazon by clicking the link below.

Tangled: Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore sing "I See the Light"

Disney's next princess tale, Tangled, is coming out this Thanksgiving. Their spin on the old tale of Rapunzel, it follows Mandy Moore's princess as a dashing young fugitive, Flynn Rider, swoops into her tower and gets her caught up in his misadventures. While it is a princess film, it seems to have a much bigger focus on Flynn than their usual fairytale films.

The first song has just been released for sneak listening, and I'm swooning over Zachary Levi's voice. In his day job he's known as Chuck Bartowski aka Charles Carmichael aka The Intersect, but he also previously sang with Katherine McPhee. That was the first of his singing career, but now he'll be on the Tangled soundtrack. I'm not sure how many songs will be in the film, it's not being marketed as an animated musical like the previous Disney princess film, The Princess and the Frog.

Listen to the track below and let me know what you think in the comments!

Glee: Britney/Brittany Episode Tonight!

Tonight is the much anticipated, much buzzed about, Britney Spears centric episode of Glee! Brittany goes to the dentist (played by Uncle Jesse himself, John Stamos) and in a aneasthesia induced dream state gets a visit from Britney Spears, along with much of her music.

Check out this sneak peak clip:

Tune in to FOX tonight at 8pm EST/PST!

Nine: The Movie Musical

not to be confused with 9, the post-apocalyptic animated movie.

The movie looks beautiful from the trailer alone! I'm not sure how I feel about Kate Hudson's voice, or how well Penelope Cruz can sing either, but it's got some great talent behind it.
