Short Film: Trick R' Treat - Making Friends

One of my favorite recent horror flicks is TRICK R TREAT. You should definitely watch it on Netflix Instant tonight if you don't have any plans. Or check out any of the other films I recommended in my Queued Up piece on!

TRICK R TREAT is a great horror anthology tracking a few stories in this one small town on All Hallow's Eve. Check out this great short from the director and then watch it on Instant!

Happy Halloween!

Anyone dressed up at work today? What's the best costume you've seen this year?

Netflix Watch Instant: Halloween 2011 Edition

It's Halloween weekend and it's time to watch some scary movies! I just posted a great round up of films over on, so be sure to check them out. I also wanted to point out ONE more thing you should look into streaming:

The Vampire Diaries!

Yep, my favorite current show is on Netflix Instant, both seasons 1 and 2. If you've got some time to kill - check out this teen supernatural soap. While it started off a bit too melodramatic and teen angst ridden, it has grown to be one of the best vampire entities around. I'd say this is better than True Blood because it doesn't rest on just sex scenes and shock value.

Check it out, you'll like it.

But if you swear it's not your thing, you can see all the other films on Netflix Instant that would make for perfect weekend viewing on

SNEAK PEEK: Watch the first 9 minutes of Once Upon a Time

There's one show left to premiere that I'm super excited - Once Upon a Time! While Jennifer Morrison still leaves a bad taste in my mouth thanks to her stint on How I Met Your Mother, the premise and talent behind the camera places this show right in my wheelhouse of entertainment.

While the show premieres on Sunday, October 23 on ABC, you can catch the first 9 minutes right here. Watch it after the break!

SNL Highlight: A Brief Interview with Drake

My favorite sketch from the Anna Faris/Drake SNL episode from Saturday isn't online because of copyright restrictions for the "Tell Him" song. Boo! So, instead of posting that video clip, I'll post my second favorite skit from the night: the Digital Short A Brief Interview with Drake.

Watch it here and let me know which segment was your favorite. I think mine was the extremely close up interview!

Toast To THE Douchebag: Kanye West’s Greatest Songs

By Kevin Taylor

Kanye West is an asshole. There is no need to sugar coat it. He’s a douche bag, and I don’t like douche bags. I don’t like douchebags in real life. I don’t like douchebag drivers, athletes, actors, or singers. But I love Kanye West. It says a lot about his musical talents that I love him so much given his personality. So I decided to create a bracket.

I got the idea after reading a fantastic article, where this guy did a top 64 March Madness style bracket of Jay-Z songs. I’m a huge Kanye fan, so I thought it would be fun to do the same. Me and my buddy A-Rod met up and did our own brackets, and this article is about mine. Alittle background on the bracket before we get started.

We decided on 48 songs. We felt that 64 was too many considering how many songs Kanye has released, but we also thought that 32 was too few considering how many great songs he has. We settled on 48, with the top 4 seeds in each bracket getting a bye. The main drawback of this is that it gives most of Kanye's radio hits byes to the next round while his album songs duke it out early. But the more Kanye, the better. We then ranked the songs by the number of youtube views. Without further ado, here is the official Kanye West bracket.

Album Representation
The College Dropout: 8
Late Registration: 10
Graduation: 11
808s and Heartbreak: 5
My Dark Twisted Fantasy: 9
Watch The Throne: 5

We broke the brackets down by college year, since Kanye’s first few albums were named after college terms. We will start with the senior bracket.

Music Monday: Mind Your Manners by Chiddy Bang

Last week I saw Chiddy Bang and Lupe Fiasco at the Hollywood Palladium and I was really impressed with their show! I had seen Lupe Fiasco a couple times before, but this was his best performance yet. I wasn't too familiar with Chiddy Bang, but realized I had heard a couple of his tracks before. While you may know "Opposite of Adults", I really loved "Mind Your Manners." Watch the video below and check out my full show review on The Audio Perv.

Music Monday: Hey Yeah by OutKast

Last week, VH1 had one of their great retrospectives - the Top 100 Songs of the 00s. My fiance and I love these types of shows and have watched all the I Love The 70s, 80s, and 90s as well as a ton of their other countdowns, so when this was announced we both picked what song we thought would be the tops. He picked "Yeah" by Usher, while I went with "Hey Yeah" by Outkast.

"Hey Yeah" is just such a fun, upbeat track that sticks in your head all day! Well, we watched the countdown and "Yeah" ended up being #27. Where did "Hey Yeah" fall?

Blast from the Past: THE PRINCESS BRIDE Reunion

One of my all-time favorite movies is THE PRINCESS BRIDE. It's just so quotable, romantic, funny, and I truly love everything about it.  It's crazy that this film is as old as I am! The cast reunited on Good Morning America to talk about filming and how fans still approach them about it today. What's your favorite quote?

I'm torn between "Have fun storming the castle!" and "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."

Watch Carey Elwes, Robin Wright, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, Billy Crystal, and more after the break.

Music Monday: Someone Like You by Adele

This beautifully sad song has been in my head for weeks! Adele, you are amazing.

SNL Highlight: Arlene's sexual harrassment

Melissa McCarthy was a fearless and hilarous host on this past Saturday Night Live! She didn't always get the best material, but she was game for anything - including repeated falling down stairs and dousing herself in Ranch dressing. While those big gaffs were funny, I felt the sketches relied on too one-note a joke to make it into this week's highlight posts.

However, Melissa's Arlene was hilarious not only for her performance and comittment to the joke, but also for the somewhat surprising turn with Bill Hader. Check it out after the break, and let me know which sketch was your favorite in the comments!
