Nikita Season 1 on DVD/Blu-Ray soon

*Disclaimer: I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote Nikita Season 1 on DVD.

“The Division” recruits troubled youth, erase their background and shapes them into spies and assassins. If given the chance, would you neglect your current life for one of globe trotting spy work if it meant you would have to cut all ties with everyone in your life?

Personally, I love to travel and see the world but I want to do it with my friends and family, not as a secret agent with a double life. I can't imagine having to constantly lie and pretend to be someone else. I can see why Nikita tried to get out for love, you can't hold on to your true self when you're constantly lying!

What do you think? Would you trade your life in for that of a jetsetting spy? Let me know in the comments!

Music Monday: Dedication to My Ex by Lloyd

I am loving this resurgence in motown and that older style of music in today's new hits. What started with Cee-Lo Green, Bruno Mars, and Janelle Monae is now expanding and Lloyd seems to have come out of nowhere with his fast climbing track, Dedication to My Ex. Check out the track after the break. Be warned, it's a lyric video with some pretty explicit lyrics, so maybe save this one for just headphones or after you leave the office. But anyways, enjoy!

Fall TV: The Complete 2011 Premiere Schedule

This season, the premieres are spread out over the entire month of September and even in to October and November. I feel like the networks learned from the mistakes of last year, where all the shows seemed to premiere within a two week window. With such a short window, it set up a lot of the shows for failure. Viewers had to make their television choices early and if they picked wrong, they had already missed an episode or two of the other new shows and didn't both to catch up.

Check out the full Fall TV premiere schedule after the break, as well as the few new shows I plan on checking out.

Introducing the PostSecret App

My Sundays are not complete until I check the new posts on PostSecret. The variety in the secrets cover everything like simple observations, skeletons in the closet, and insights of joy. What started as a simple project has morphed into a huge cult web following that saves lives and connects people across the globe.

It just became even more global and easily accessible with the launch of the new PostSecret App. Watch the trailer here and get ready to share your secrets!

Music Monday: Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer

If you're ever having a bad day or feeling downbeat, this song will totally help you through. It's an entire song about optimism, how could I not love it? Plus the music video has a funny little cameo from Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight Shrute). Check it out after the break!

Nikita Season 1 on DVD/Blu-Ray soon

I'll definitely be asking for this for Christmas, if I can hold out on buying it myself that long. Nikita Season 1 is out on DVD/Blu-Ray on August 30, 2011.

There have been several moments throughout the show that Nikita has been judged solely on her looks, which is a huge mistake! Yes she's gorgeous, but that slight frame sure packs a punch. Beautiful and deadly, she's the ultimate undercover spy.

Have you ever been in a situation where someone has judged you based on what you looked like, and how did you prove them wrong?

You can pre-order Nikita: Season 1 from The WB here.

Anderson Cooper, I love you even more now!

Anderson Cooper's giggle fit from the Gerard Depardieu peeing story is the best thing I've seen all week (yes, that includes RISE OF THE PLANETS OF THE APES).

Just watch and enjoy already!

Music Monday: No One Believes Me by Kid Cudi (for the FRIGHT NIGHT soundtrack)

FRIGHT NIGHT opens this Friday and if you're in to truly villainous vampires instead of the soft, romantic ones from TWILIGHT, this flick is right up your alley. For the film's soundtrack, Kid Cudi cut this moody track and filmed a great companion video to the film. Check out the video after the break and stay tuned for my film review for GeekTyrant!

SYTYCD Season 8: Top 4 Perform

Kenny Ortega and Katie Holmes join our judges tonight and it's the LAST performance episode of the season. I thought America got it right this season and am so happy with the Top 4. I'd be happy with any of them winning tomorrow night.

Melanie and Marko
Doriann Sanchez Disco
I Feel Love (12" Version) by Donna Summer
Well, the lighting and Melanie's faces were the best part of that painful routine. There's a reason this is one of the "dances of death." Katie loved their facial expressions and really that was the best part of the routine. Mary pointed out how their lifts, coming in and out, were rough and not smooth transitions. Nigel thought it was a bit of a struggle and they were uncomfortable in the style.

THE HELP opens in theaters today

With Gordon and the Whale closing its digital doors this month, I've found a new writing home at GeekTyrant and just posted my first review there! I saw THE HELP last week and really loved the "controversial" story. Watch the trailer after the break and then go read my review!

Music Monday: I Follow Rivers by Lykke Li

Last week I saw Lykke Li at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and she put on a fantastic show! She's a little woman with a big voice and such energy comes through her performances even though her songs aren't always the most upbeat. You can read my full concert review on The Audio Perv and check out some concert photos too, but if you just want to hear my favorite song from her at the moment, watch the video for "I Follow Rivers" below.

Harry Potter in 60 seconds

I love a good YouTube video and this musical summary of the entire Harry Potter series is pretty tops! I love how he changes musical style and tempo to fit each book. Warnings: Spoilers for books/movies until HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE.

Like the song? You can buy it on iTunes of course!

SDCC: THE DARKEST HOUR was my favorite footage from the entire con

THE DARKEST HOUR was that hidden gem in the coal mine that is San Diego Comic-Con. In a weekend filled with KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL, and of course THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, the trailer and production talk stood out the most for me. You can check out my full thoughts on their private presentation on Gordon and the Whale, but watch the trailer right here:

SYTYCD Season 8: Top 6 Perform

The Top 6 are being judged by the usual duo as well as Christina Applegate and Lil C. For time purposes, I may have to just not quote him at all, or I could be writing all night. The Top 6 are all strong, but I'm still a bit surprised to see Caitlynn there instead of Jordan. I just expected her to be there the whole time, it's hard to adjust. Oh well, let's get to tonight's dancing!

SDCC: My interview with Jason Momoa and Rachel Nichols from CONAN THE BARBARIAN

This epic definitely isn't for everyone, but if you're in to sword fights, mythological creatures, and lots of action then CONAN THE BARBARIAN is for you. Watch the trailer here:

Then go read my roundtable interview with stars Jason Momoa and Rachel Nichols on Gordon and the Whale.

Music Monday: King of Diamonds by Motopony

Last week I had the chance to chat with the lead singer of Motopony, a new indie band hailing from Tacoma, Washington. I also saw them at The Echo and they put on a great show. Even though they were the opening band, they were the best act of the night. Haven't heard of them before? Check out their song King of Diamonds after the break!
