Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: First Trailer

The trailer gave me chills! I'm so excited for this!

I got in a discussion with my boyfriend though if it really can be considered the film "of a generation." I think it qualifies because I personally, along with many others, grew up reading the books and watching the films. I remember going to midnight releases of the books and was even in London for the release of the 6th book. I went to the movies every opening weekend and remember just falling into this magical world fully realized.

Do you think this film qualifies as as a film of a generation? Or do you think Twilight, Lord of the Rings, or something else entirely would be it?

  1. I think it's the story for our generation, however i'm fairly certain my sister would disagree and claim twilight and that comes solely down to the fact that she's too young to remember the phenomenon or to have read all the books. I love it, I'm so excited, but I am disappointed to wait six months between the two parts, it just means the movies going to finish in a stupid place and annoy the shit out of me.

  2. Yeah, I guess for younger girls their movie is Twilight. But I would say it's lack of appeal to boys at all means it can't be considered the film of an entire generation.

And yeah, the waiting between the two movies is going to suck. That was one of my least favorite things about the Lord of the Rings films - they just ended without resolution then I had to wait a year for the rest of it.

But, I'm hoping Harry Potter will find a good intermission point. HP4Life! lol
