So You Think You Can Dance: Season 8 Controversy Already?!
With only one aired episode, there's already controversy over one of the auditions on So You Think You Can Dance. Hip hop duo Deon Lewsa Jr. and Damon Bellmon won their tickets to the Las Vegas round after a funny, personality-filled routine that allowed them both to shine.
However, it has come to light that this routine was originally performed by Les Twins, Laurent and Larry Bourgeoi. You can watch their performances side by side after the break.
Do you think they should be penalized for doing another person's routine?
While it's not the ideal to perform someone else's routine, I think they should be allowed to continue on in the competition for as long as their talent holds up. It's called So You Think You Can Dance, not So You Think You Can Choreograph. Even though they didn't come up with the steps, they danced well and had wonderful showmanship and that's what the show is looking for.
