Netflix Watch Instant: Pushing Daisies: The Complete Series

Pushing Daisies was a new show in Fall 2007. While it had a promising start, the writers strike cut its first season short and delayed the second. When it came back, the audience didn't tune in again. With a short first season of only 9 episodes and a second season of only 13, it's a relatively quick watch.

Pushing Daisies follows Ned, the piemaker, as he works with Private Investigator Emerson. While a crime solving duo, they have the unique ability to wake up murder victims to ask them how they died and whodunit. Ned touches the victim, they have one minute to chat, then he touches them again so they go back to being dead. However, this all changes when one murder victim turns out to be his childhood crush and first kiss. He touches her to ask what happened, but can't bring himself to touch her to make her die again. So he saves her. But this opens up a whole new can of worms as they may care for each other, they can never have physical contact again.

The show follows their relationship and the P.I. cases each week. While it may sound like any old crime drama, its quirky dialogue, unique tone, and colorful palate make it a one of a kind show. I'm sad we didn't get to see more of this world!
