SNL Highlights: Ryan Phillippe

After such a strong SNL last week with Tina Fey, any host would have had a tough job to live up to. But this episode suffered from its lackluster writing and a stiff host. Plus, with Ryan Phillippe hosting and Will Forte still in the cast, why wasn't there a MacGruber skit to promote the movie coming out May 21? It just seems like it should have been an obvious choice! While I didn't find much of the show worthy of video embeds, here's the highlights from last night's show.

Shake Weight

The shake weight itself is just such an easy target. The jokes pretty much write themselves.

And the best skit of the night was the very last bit: Outrageous Clown Squad

"Like what's with Islands? Get more land! What's with deserts? Get less sand!"
"Are children small or just far away?"

Also, Ke$ha was the musical guest this week and she brought her own brand of crazy to the party. I'm not a fan of her at all, she's like a dumbed down version of Lady Gaga. She's trying to be edgy and performance art-y, but without the knowledge or talent to really pull it off. Check out this train wreck performance from last night:

Did I leave out your favorite sketch from the night? Let me know in the comments!
