Have you been watching this season? I loved the season despite its sometimes clunky pacing and dialog. Just like dance movies, a dance webseries is only as good as its routines. And with the title The League of Extraordinary Dancers, it absolutely lived up to its name with amazing numbers covering styles ranging from krumping to robotic popping and now even tapping.

I'm excited to see where Season 2 goes, since this was obviously the origin story of the league and its members. What do you guys think? Will you tune in when/if it returns?

The chapters with the Dark Doctor (Chapters 3 and 7) so far have been my favorite. The dancing in all chapters has been amazing, but those chapters in particular stand out for being able to blend the dancing and the storytelling beautifully.

The LXD: Chapters Four and Five

The next two installments of the epic dance series LXD have arrived today! While I don't think they're as strong as the last installment with Madd Chadd, they both have great dance sequences that slowly move the story forward.

The Madd Chadd episode was so great because it didn't waste time on exposition or bother with dialogue. I'm sure the majority of the viewers care about the dance routines more than the plot and that episode found a way to seamlessly integrate it better than any of the other chapters. I posted Chapter Three earlier, so be sure to watch it before moving on to Chapters Four and Five, which are posted below.

Chapter Four's b-boy battle was epic, but the lighting distracted me and made it hard for me to focus on their dance movements. What has been your favorite chapter of the LXD journey so far?

While that was a little slow to get to the extreme b-boying and dancing that I was waiting for, the majority of this new episode is all flips and tricks that seem to defy gravity. "Community" Remix

Have you guys been watching the new NBC comedy "Community"? It's not a show that's Must Watch for me, yet. The Thursday 9pm block is dominated by FlashForward for me. But it is a show I try to catch on hulu when I have some down time. It's hilarious while still having some emotional aspects. A fan made this awesome remix to clips from the show. Check it out:

2009 Fall TV Preview

The Fall TV Season is gearing up and I'm psyched! This is looking to be one of the strongest seasons in recent memory, with plenty of new shows I want to check out. Not sure how I'm going to fit it all, thank god for DVR and online streaming on sites like Hulu and Fancast! I'll break it down by day of the week and if I miss any of your favorites, let me know in the comments!

Monday
8pm: How I Met Your Mother (CBS). In case you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a big HIMYM fan. Last season was kind of lackluster, but I think that's more because they had to work around the double pregnancies of the leading ladies than the creative well running dry. I hope this next season will be a return to form.

Other notes: I gave up on Heroes long ago, but it's still got a pretty solid fanbase. Hopefully HIMYM can continue to gain viewers this season. Also, I love Chuck, but it's not coming back until March. So sad.

Tuesday
8pm: So You Think You Can Dance (FOX). Also, an obvious pick for me. I'm sad the Top 20 (the good part of the show) doesn't start until Oct. 27, damn you baseball! I'm also interested to see how the changes they've added pan out.

Other notes: I hope the ratings pick up once the Top 20 start, but it has the toughest competition its ever faced now that it's in fall. I hope it can keep up.

Wednesday - my busiest TV day of the week by far.
8pm: America's Next Top Model (The CW). Shorty season! So far this show is proving to be much of the same, despite this season's gimmick. It's also a show that's been on for so long now that the contestants seem to know what's coming, which is cutting down on the drama a bit. There have no breakdowns during the makeovers, or even during the topless shoot. The show's going to have to come up with something new if it's going to make these girl cry.

8pm: So You Think You Can Dance Results (FOX). See above. Love it!

9pm: Glee (FOX). I've been in love with this show since they aired the premiere after American Idol. It's so bubbly and infectious, and I have loved all the musical numbers they've done so far. Each week, my love for this show grows.

9pm: Modern Family (ABC). I saw the pilot at D23 and loved it! I had heard the good buzz before, but didn't pay much attention to since I'm not much of a sitcom person (other than HIMYM). This show won me over within the first 5 minutes of the screening.

9:30pm: Cougar Town (ABC). I'm mainly just checking it out because of Courtney Cox. And, even though the premise sounded dumb at first, the promos have won me over.


10pm: Eastwick (ABC). 3 women find their inner witches to get everything they ever wanted in life and romance. I'm a sucker for the supernatural with some romance thrown in. (Note: Buffy, guilty pleasure Twilight, Charmed, and the list goes on.) That is enough for me to check out this show for at least the first few episodes.

Thursday
8pm: Vampire Diaries (The CW). See Eastwick. Same reasons apply. Plus, Ian Somerhalder.

8pm: FlashForward (ABC). I saw the pilot at D23 and was impressed. This could be the show that fills the Lost void after its final season. Great cast, intriguing premise, and lots of potential.

9pm: The Office (NBC). I'm looking forward to all the Pam/Jim storylines that are coming up this season! As my favorite part of the show, I'm glad they're going to tackle a couple of big life milestones.

9:30pm: Community (NBC). It's the return of Chevy Chase! After his great turn in Chuck last season, I can totally see him succeeded in television. The show looks funny from all the clips and promos they've put out, and it's got a cast full of actors that have proven their comedy chops time and time again. My personal favorite: Ken Jeong.

Friday
9pm: Dollhouse (FOX). After a rocky start in its first season, this show got so incredibily, mind bendingly good. I'm surprised it got picked up for a second season, as I'm sure everyone else was. Joss shows always get better as they have more of their world built up and mythology to draw from. It's going to be a great second season.

and I think I've talked enough about TV. Whew, tired out. Well, what will you guys be watching?

D23 Wrap Up

Yesterday, KT and I went to D23 aka Disney Con! It was a lot of fun, like a mini Comic Con. Here's a review of everything we saw.

Muppet Presentation
One of the heads of Jim Henson came to chat about what the Muppets have been up to recently, and what they're going to be doing soon. I've been a muppet fan since I was kid, so it was great to see that they're still going strong! I was really impressed with their digital work - check out Muppets.com for their viral videos and other content. This video of theirs won a 2009 Webby and is pretty funny.



I'm sad they didn't touch on The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made more than just a throwaway mention. I guess getting Jason Siegel to come chat about it would've been too much, since they're filming How I Met Your Mother in NYC.

Toy Story Mania Wii Game
It's just like the game at California Adventure! It's a lot of fun, and they even had it in 3D! My only complaint is that there were so many objectives to complete within the game, that it was hard to keep track. I ended up just shooting at everything instead of trying to specifically complete the tasks. But I had a whole lot of fun anyway!

103 inch 3D Home Theater
They showed some 3D Disney trailers on tv sets that will be available starting next year. The trailers weren't anything new, but it was really neat to see them on an home television set instead of a large movie theatre. The screen we watched it on is one of only 4 screens released in the entire US. While it was really impressive, and a great idea to have 3D capabilities at home. I just don't know if it'd be worth all that extra money.

Modern Family
This show was hilarious! It's sort of in that documentary style, but not as obtrusively as The Office or Arrested Development. I still see Al Bundy whenever I see Ed O'Neill, though. I would watch this show, but it's on Wednesday nights at 9pm and that's when Glee is on. Wednesday is looking to be my most packed TV night with America's Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance, Glee, and maybe Eastwick. But, that's what hulu is for, I guess. If you're Wednesday nights isn't as packed as mine, I recommend you check it out.

FlashForward
The hype around this show is completely deserved. It was an engrossing hour with great acting from Joseph Fiennes and John Cho especially. I'm intrigued to see what's going to happen next. I hope this gets viewers, because if this show lives up to its potential I could see it becoming the next LOST. Tune in for the series premiere on Sept 24th, 9pm. I'll probably watch it when it airs, just because it was so good.

Toy Story Panel
The Toy Story panel is the main reason I went to D23! We got to see an extended, never-before-seen clip from Toy Story 3 which was AMAZING. It ended way too soon and I am so excited to see the rest of the film. We also got to see Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D weeks before it's October 2nd release in theaters. The movies looked great, but you can tell they weren't originally designed to be in 3D just because there are no scenes that truly take advantage of the medium. Toy Story 3 probably won't have that problem though, since it was always intended to be in 3D.

Overall, it was a great day! I wish I could have gone for more since they had some great panels with Robert Zemickis, Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and for Prince of Persia. Maybe next year I'll go for more than just the one day.

Awkward Cute

Youth in Revolt


I love Michael Cera, even though he plays the same guy in all his roles. He plays the "awkward cute guy" so well, I can see why he'd want to stick with what he knows.

I don't know how I feel about this movie. It looks just a little too weird and unsure of what it is. I do love the use of Bon Jovi in the trailer though.

Resist Skynet!

So, I recently got hooked on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles by watching it on TheWB.com. It's a great show and I wish I had started watching when it was on! I didn't see Terminator Salvation after the abysmal reviews it got, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say this show is better. It has action, character development, and is well written. Plus, Summer Glau does the not-quite-human thing so well. Check out the pilot below:

"Spaced" case

I just finished watching "Spaced" on hulu. It's this hilarious show that ran in England in 1999. It stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost - the dynamic duo behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I blazed through the entire series in a matter of days, since there's only 14 episodes. They're all on hulu, so if you have the time, you should check it out! I've embedded the pilot below, to make it even easier for you guys to get hooked.
