The Small Screen Podcast: Episode 11 (COMMUNITY's future is GRIMM)
This week's big news is definitely NBC's release of their midseason schedule. Including some time shifts and premiere dates, the biggest news of all that sent shockwaves (shockwaves!) through the internet television community, was the disappearance of Community from the schedule. Listen as we dive in to the news, as well as talk about the People's Choice Awards, the Oscars drama, and what we've been watching this week.

Watch "Earano" by Oscar Winner Luke Matheny
TVWeek has a great article up about the newest talent on the block: Live Action Short Film Oscar Winner Luke Matheny.
While he used to work at TVWeek, he eventually left his editorial assistant position to start making movies. His graduate thesis film "God of Love" won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film and can be purchased on iTunes. Can't spare the money? You can watch his short film from his sophomore year, EARANO. A play on the familiar tale of Cyrano de Bergerac, it gives a hint at his talent that's still finding a voice.

The Best Part of the Oscars: Autotune
Well, the "young and hip" Oscars sure were something. James Franco seemed high or uninterested most of the time, Anne Hathaway tried to make up for it by being extra perky, and the winners were pretty predictable.
Since you've read my blog, I'm sure you can guess what my favorite part of the ceremony was. Autotune the Oscars!
The Harry Potter and Twilight segments are my favorite.

One week til the Oscars!
I can't believe the Oscars are only a week away. Where does the time go?
James Franco and Anne Hathaway have an uphill battle, trying to inject the awards with some youth and humor. Based off the promotional materials, I think they're on the right track. Watch their commercial:
James Franco also got some advice from comedy movie extraordinaire Judd Apatow:
This could pay off big or fail miserably. I can't wait to see the award show!
